Well, just starting isn't always right.

You might think right about now: blah, blah, blah.
Thing is, I’ve been fed up with waiting for the right moment to just start blogging and I still think that tumblr might be the right platform for many people. David’s blog is a very good example for that.
For me, it just wasn’t enough. Somehow I managed to forget that tumblr didn’t not provide comments as a feature (yeah, I know …) and I wasn’t a big fan of disqus & co. from the beginning. But I integrated disqus in my tumblr blog at first, because some comments are better then no comments.
It turned out to be a mistake after all. A friend of mine, who didn’t have an disqus account, did try to post his comment twice. I never seen it in the time line and did disappear after a while anyway. I love services, but depending on only one service that might be cutting of some of the comments in my blog is just not good enough.
To cut a long story short: wiredvanity.com will be the home of my private blog. It’s hosted on my private server and it runs on Textpattern. All this thanks to my wonderful friend Eike. He is a dear friend, a genius on way to many aspects of life and the person who set up this blog in a day. Just because he can. :)
As to my tumblr blog. It’s not going to die, but it won’t syndicate this blog either. Instead I’ll be pulling some date from flickr, youtube and vimeo in there. That might change, because I’m not quite sure, that I actually want to manage to blogs. I guess, I need to find the right mix for the both of them.
Hey brotha – sorry to hear that you had troubles with Disqus. That’s weird. Been using it for over a year and no glitches at all.
Try and drop Daniel, its CEO a mail: daniel@disqus.com
he was helpful before, usually quick with answering and a nice fella.

David, thanks for the contact details. I’ll get in touch with Daniel.
Thing is, those weren’t my first problems with disqus. I’ve been testing their product pretty early on and had some troubles on my previous private blog. Had to remove it there, but at least I had the possibility to have comments without disqus.
